Ten Lessons Learned

Here are ten things I learned this year writing one thank you card every day.

1. Gratitude comes back to you in ways you won't expect.

2. Not everyone is going to like you. Even if you thank them- there were times I gave thank you cards to people they either didn't appreciate it (thrown away immediately after receiving it) or how they felt
about me didn't change.

3. Thank you cards make great birthday cards!

4. A simple handwritten thank you card makes almost everyone's day.

5. You notice yourself thanking people more in passing, and thanking them more sincerely.

6. You shouldn't hang on to the past, worry about the future. You must live in the day; here and now. I'm sure there is a quote out there.

7. Giving a thank you card to someone (the physical action of handing them to someone) can sometimes be harder then writing them. Especially to people you don't know well.

8. Thank you cards can be short. They can be long. Doesn't matter! In the end it's a thank you card, a token of gratitude.

9. Good things come to you in big chunks. Other times it feels  like you have no one to thank, or nothing to be grateful for. Look closely, and you can always find someone to thank.

10. If I can do it. You can do it!
