Thank You #44

To Kirsten. This morning I had my 2K and my time went up 1 second, while everyone else's times went down drastically. I was feeling crummy and discouraged. I even got an email from my coach suggesting I go back to the erg and work on some things later today. I saw my roommate, Kirsten (who is a coxswain) and told her this. We decided to do a 2K instead of doing other work. Whats the worst that could happen, my time goes up from this morning? Then I just don't tell me coach ;-)
The 2K felt much much better, I really felt myself take long hard strokes as opposed to quick, incomplete strokes. Kirsten kept me sub 2min split the whole time, and screamed at me when I got to 2 min split (At that point I dropped it, because I knew I would get a yelling if I went back to the room). I was so proud that I went back and did a second 2K! Even though it's only a little bit over a mile, it is a lot of mental work. Doing two in a day is ALOT of mental work. After I was done I saw my coach who gave me a hug :-)
My first 2K of the season wasn't bad, which attests to my training during the winter. I talked with my coach who said, the people who dropped ALOT from the first one of the season (only a week ago) some of them hadn't been working out as much during the break, so after one week back into hard training, the scores could only drop.
Kirsten didn't have to come cox me, especially with this week being CRAZY! She did anyways and was full of positive energy, and did an amazing job (like she always does).

The drawing Kirsten did. It's supposed to be our coach...
Improvement from this morning  :-)
